What a wonderful show of support for health care by Connecticut's ministers, legislators and communities. It is invigorating to share the light together to improve the health care system in Connecticut with the implementation of SustiNet. SustiNet will streamline the state's health care spending, promote good health and deliver quality care, and offer choice and affordable health care.

childcare vouchers . Very expensive. Moreover, for those who have more than one child, this can be very taxing indeed. After all, the needs and requirements of a child are much more if he is to have a proper upbringing and a childhood free from wants. However, as every new parent know, the basics themselves are hard to cover in most cases. Apart from the regular food and clothing, about which one has to extra careful, there are medical expenses for the regular check ups that every doctor advises. Then there is the fee for daycare and once the child is old enough, school tuitions etc. As a result, every parent should avail the childcare benefits available in the respective states. It would save the family expenditure to a considerable degree ... childcare vouchers, Childcare vouchers, Tax credits, Childca

Life insurance policies usually lapse once the person who opened them stop making payments. Unless your grandma had cash-value policies, and she was putting money into them for quite a while before she died, then there would be cash value. And the policies didn't 'belong' to you - they would have belonged to your grandma. She alone had a right to name the beneficiaries, which wouldn't have been the person being insured. Unless, as I said, they had cash value.

I am a divorced parent of a child that is basically emancipated. Most of the college expenses are paid either through scholarship or financial aid due to the custodial parent's limited income. My family continues to pay child support for the child to the custodial parent for the child and covers all medical expenses for the child. The question is, can we continue to cover the child (a college senior planning on grad and post grad studies) medically, but have the child be emancipated from the costodial parent?

We already do that. We have homeless shelters, "Habitat for Humanity," and special home loans for the impoverished. People without health care is currently a much bigger problem than people without homes.

I'm sorry about the death in your family. The funeral is a few blocks from work.

She should have stopped taking the drug immediately and gone to the emergency room. When my doctor prescribed a similar drug she told me that if I started feeling weird, dizzy or peeing a lot, to call her immediately or go to the emergency room.

It saddens me to think a few words could have saved someone's life. I hope the husband sues. Who was the doctor (Gee, I hope it isn't mine)?

So, mandatory purchase of health insurance might be illegal? I bet a tax to fund national health insurance would be very legal.

That's an interesting idea. How would that work though? HSA contributions come from after tax monies. The employer would then have to run separate transactions for payroll AND HSA contributions. That just doesn't seem practical. And, in order for the employer to contribute such an increase into an HSA, the employee would have to be enrolled in a high deductible health insurance policy. I highly doubt that 214,000 people actually living on minimum wage have such a policy.

Thanks for the input. :)
